Best Mid-Size Pickups Under R$ 300,000 for 2026: Triton Tops Quatro Rodas Ranking Ahead of Ranger and Titano

Brazilian magazine Quatro Rodas' 2026 buying guide has ranked the three diesel mid-size pickups priced below R$ 300,000, judging each on equipment, running costs, depreciation, insurance and the price of parts and servicing.

Taking first place is the Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 HPE, listed at R$ 275,990 and praised for the comfort and performance it delivers at this price point. It uses a 204-hp 2.4-biturbo diesel and comes with leather seats, automatic climate control, a reversing camera and wireless phone charging. A near-R$ 30,000 price cut means the better-equipped HPE-S, at R$ 299,990 with adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, dual-zone air conditioning and four extra drive modes, now fits the category too.

The Ford Ranger XLS 2.0 4x4 CD AT (R$ 285,900) ranks second. It looks plainer than the flashier Black trim, with 17-inch wheels and cloth upholstery, and its 170-hp 2.0 turbo diesel with a six-speed automatic isn't the quickest, but it's efficient and permanent 4x4 helps resale. It depreciates the least of the trio at 9%, and its scheduled servicing is by far the cheapest at R$ 6,671, though its parts basket (R$ 15,066) exceeds the Triton's.

Third is the Fiat Titano Ranch AWD at R$ 287,490. The range-topper carries the most complete kit — ADAS with adaptive cruise, emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring, plus 360-degree cameras — and a new 200-hp 2.2 turbo diesel with an eight-speed automatic that improved both pace and economy. It has the largest dealer network (537 outlets) but the guide flags its steep 20% depreciation and the category's costliest parts list at R$ 21,190.
