Denza N8L goes fully electric: 960 km CLTC range from 299,800 yuan

Denza, BYD's premium arm, has rolled out a battery-electric version of its N8L large six-seat SUV, which until now was sold only as a plug-in hybrid. Two trims are on offer: the Flash Charging Prestige at 299,800 yuan (US$44,280) and the Flash Charging Flagship at 329,800 yuan.

The EV draws power from a single rear motor rated at up to 370 kW (496 hp), fed by a 130.15-kWh second-generation Blade Battery on an 800-volt platform. CLTC range is rated at 960 kilometers. Dimensions carry over from the PHEV — 5,200 mm long with a 3,075-mm wheelbase — and seating remains a 2+2+2 layout for six.

A 208-liter powered frunk with a sealable drain is among the family-friendly touches, letting owners rinse it out after hauling sandy camping gear. The SUV also gets the DiSus-A body control system with dual-chamber air suspension and CDC dampers, rear-wheel steering that trims the turning radius to 4.58 meters, and a LiDAR-equipped God's Eye 5.0 suite covering highway and city assisted driving plus automated parking.

The N8L nameplate debuted in October 2025 as a PHEV, and a flash-charging plug-in hybrid replaced the original in June at prices from 319,800 yuan with a 430-km electric range. BYD says compatible vehicles can go from 10 to 70 percent charge in five minutes at its dedicated flash-charging stations — 10,000 of which were standing in China as of late August, with a target of 20,000 by year-end.
