Denza's Z9GT gains a more affordable route into its e3 tri-motor lineup

Denza, BYD's premium marque, rolled out a new Z9GT variant on Wednesday priced at 329,800 yuan (about $48,670), opening the door to its e3 tri-motor system at a lower cost. Until now the only all-electric e3 offering in the 2026 lineup was the Flash Charging Performance model at 369,800 yuan, so the newcomer undercuts it by 40,000 yuan, roughly 10.8 percent. Denza general manager Li Hui said the addition answers customers who want the tri-motor driving capability but can do with a "simpler equipment package".

Under the skin, the new car largely mirrors the Performance trim: a 122.5-kWh second-generation Blade Battery delivering 860 km of CLTC range — slightly more than the pricier car's 820 km — plus a 230-kW front motor and twin 310-kW rear motors, good for 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, a tenth slower than the Performance version. Charging pace is unchanged, with 10-to-70 percent top-ups in 5 minutes and 10-to-97 percent in 9.

The savings show up in the chassis hardware. The new variant makes do with four-piston front calipers and 255/45 R20 tires instead of the six-piston calipers, carbon-ceramic discs and R21 tires of the Performance car, and its top speed drops from 270 km/h to 240 km/h. Both share a 4.62-meter minimum turning radius and compass-turn capability, and the newcomer retains the God's Eye 5.0 driver-assistance suite and DiSus-A air suspension.

The addition lifts the Z9GT's battery-electric lineup to four variants, alongside two plug-in hybrids. The March 5 refresh had already reset the single-motor entry point to 269,800 yuan, some 24 percent below its predecessor, and the model was the first delivered with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging tech, with CLTC range reaching 1,036 km at the top end. As of August 28, BYD had built more than 10,000 flash-charging stations across 332 cities.
