Geely Galaxy has opened pre-orders for its first off-road SUV, the Zhanjian 700, and demand has been overwhelming. Refundable reservations topped 43,900 units within a single hour, after passing 10,000 in just nine minutes. A limited Land Ark edition capped at 700 units also sold out immediately.
Buyers can pick from six variants with pre-order prices ranging from 199,800 to 389,800 yuan. The SUV carries an "Oriental Lion" design theme with Sky Eye lighting, stretched daytime running lights, and an illuminated Geely badge. It stretches 5,085 mm long on a 2,900 mm wheelbase, offers 233 mm of ground clearance, 30- and 31-degree approach and departure angles, and can wade through water up to 800 mm deep.
Power comes from the Thor EM-T AWD hybrid system, which pairs a 1.5T (120 kW) or 2.0T (160 kW) engine with three electric motors for a combined 830 kW — roughly 1,113 hp — and 13,920 Nm of torque at the wheels. The top variant covers 0-100 km/h in 3.95 seconds. A 47.14 kWh CATL LFP battery delivers 305 km of CLTC electric range, with combined range claimed at over 1,200 km and up to about 1,700 km in certain tests, supported by 800V fast charging.
Inside, the Zhanjian 700 gets a five-screen cockpit, an 18.5-liter fridge, and front seats with 14-point massage. For off-roading there is an AI all-terrain digital chassis offering 17 drive modes, plus Crab Walk and Waltz Turn functions that cut the turning radius to as little as 3.36 meters. A rear mechanical differential lock engages in 200 milliseconds, and an emergency floating mode is said to let the SUV keep moving through water for up to 40 minutes in certain conditions.
