The ORA 5 is GWM’s opening offer in Spain, aimed at the highly competitive compact-SUV class. At 4.47 metres long, it is offered with a 160 hp petrol engine, a 223 hp non-plug-in hybrid or a 204 hp electric motor, giving buyers several propulsion options in one model range.
The reviewer praised its distinctive exterior, solid cabin finish, straightforward multimedia system and comfortable, composed road manners. Rear-seat space is generous, though boot capacity varies by version: 422 litres in the petrol and electric models, and 390 litres in the hybrid. Wind noise at motorway speeds was a noted weakness.
Of the three, the hybrid was the reviewer’s preferred choice after several days of driving. It delivered strong performance and averaged around 6 l/100 km. The petrol version felt capable but appeared likely to use more fuel, while the electric model was smooth and lively; its claimed 435 km WLTP range and 120 kW maximum DC charging rate were described as unexceptional for the segment.
