MG 07 coupe sedan opens pre-sales in early August with up to 840 km CLTC range

SAIC MG's new smart coupe sedan pairs EV and hybrid powertrains with Momenta R7 driver assistance — and a Guerlain-linked special edition — with the top trim capped under RMB 180,000.

MG is gearing up to open pre-sales for the MG 07, a coupe-styled sedan the brand positions as one of its most important models of the year. Reservations begin in early August, with the 610 km version equipped with lidar guided at under RMB 150,000 and the long-range 840 km flagship at under RMB 180,000.

The car measures 4,886 mm long with a 2,825 mm wheelbase and comes in both battery-electric and hybrid forms. The EV rides on 400V or 800V architecture with CLTC ranges of 610 km and 840 km, a 230 kW motor delivering 350 N·m, and a zero-to-100 km/h time in the five-second bracket. Batteries come from CATL, with an optional semi-solid-state pack from SAIC's QingTao unit, while the hybrid variant claims 1,745 km of combined range.

On the tech side, the Momenta R7 system with lidar covers city NOA and a long list of parking scenarios. The cabin runs an 8295P chip driving a 15.6-inch 2.5K display with an AI assistant called Moli, plus a 21-speaker audio setup, a dimmable panoramic roof, a zero-gravity front passenger seat with an integrated vanity table, and a 30-litre dual-temperature fridge.

MG is also leaning on heritage for attention: a limited edition created with French perfumer Guerlain brings floral exterior artwork and a gold bee badge on the B-pillar, playing on the brand's long history with female drivers and royal customers.
