Scout Motors Shows Two Personalities of the Traveler with Mountainside and Trail-Ready Concepts

Scout Motors revealed a pair of Traveler SUV concepts on September 2, 2026, each built to show a different side of the upcoming model. The company says first engineering prototypes are now in testing, a phase running through 2027 before the production spec is finalized, with customer deliveries targeted for 2028.

The Mountainside concept positions the Traveler as a premium adventurer. It wears a deep brown paint called "Morning Dusk" flecked with gold, sits on glossy black 22-inch Vault wheels wrapped in 35-inch tires, and gains a panoramic sunroof. The cabin mixes gray and Alpine District brown tones with semi-aniline leather, a Custom Gray hide inspired by historic Scout models, recycled walnut trim, warm-toned fabrics, braided stainless speaker covers, and physical switchgear for the main controls.

The Trail-Ready Concept goes the opposite direction. Finished in matte Galvanized Steel gray under a cream Canvas roof, it adds steel bumpers front and rear, a front-mounted winch, rear tow hooks, a tailgate-hung spare tire and jerry can, and a light-equipped roof rack. Rolling stock consists of 18-inch black beadlock wheels on 35-inch off-road rubber, while a black open-air Cabana Top canvas roof covers a Brick Red interior drawn from American workwear, pairing leather surfaces with denim-style fabric on the seats, door panels, and grab handles.
