Vietnam's Small MPVs Slash Prices Hard: Some Models Cut by Over 100 Million VND, Many Now Under 600 Million

Vietnam's compact MPV segment has entered another round of aggressive discounting, timed to the tail end of the ghost month, a period when car buying traditionally slows. According to the report, some models have been marked down by more than 100 million VND.

The promotions have pulled real-world transaction prices for numerous variants below 600 million VND, a threshold the story describes as the budget level most buyers can accept. The cuts are aimed squarely at families and passenger-service operators who want a versatile vehicle without overstretching their finances.

The models covered in the roundup include the Mitsubishi Xpander and Xpander Cross, Toyota Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio, Suzuki XL7 and XL7 Hybrid, Hyundai Stargazer, and Honda BR-V.

The report adds that this improved affordability is one reason these MPVs are positioned to contend for honors such as passenger service vehicle of the year or the sub-600-million family car category at Car Choice Awards 2026. It also cautions that actual pricing depends on the specific variant and each dealer's own policies.
