Yamaha Launches Retro Fuzzy 125 Scooter in China With Hybrid Assist

Yamaha has added a retro-modern scooter to its Chinese lineup: the Fuzzy 125, priced from 11,580 yuan, or roughly Rp 30.4 million. The model is produced by the CFMOTO-Yamaha joint venture and rides on the same platform as the CFMOTO 125 AURA, which undercuts it by 900 yuan at 10,680 yuan.

Styling follows classic cues — a compact body with rounded lines, a circular LED headlamp and a flat floorboard for daily practicality. With a 765 mm seat height, 108 kg kerb weight and a 1,285 mm wheelbase, it is pitched as a nimble city commuter.

Its air-cooled 124 cc single-cylinder SOHC engine makes 6.1 kW (about 8.3 hp) at 6,750 rpm and 9.8 Nm at 5,000 rpm, sent through a CVT. The standout feature is "Hybrid Assist": an electric motor delivers around three seconds of extra thrust during hard acceleration, low-speed overtaking, hill climbs or when carrying a passenger, while silent start and idling stop trim fuel consumption in traffic.

Equipment is generous for the class: a 6.2-inch color TFT display with MotoPlay smartphone connectivity and navigation, tire-pressure monitoring, four unlocking methods (NFC card, Bluetooth, app, physical key) plus USB-A and USB-C ports. Braking pairs a front disc with single-channel ABS and a rear drum, backed by an emergency stop signal that flashes the taillight. The Fuzzy 125 is currently sold only in China, and Yamaha has not said whether it will reach Indonesia or other markets.
