“I have had the Alenzas for about 30k miles and have been very pleased.”

“The only one I'd consider from your current list is the LTX A/T2. I looked very hard at that tire as well, but ended up going with the General Grabber HTS. It is a bit less aggressive but does very well in the snow. I can't compare snow performance to the Michelin LTX's, but I'm pleased so far.”

“I've had Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza for a year. Also had a small mpg drop as noted by everyone else. But the grip and road feel are way better. Love these in the rain and snow.”

“I ended up getting the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza after reading all the positive reviews here and on Tirerack. The fact that the Alenzas were $215 cheaper vs. the CrossTerrain helped sway the decision. Then I headed off to Tahoe for the weekend, straight into a huge snow/rain storm, with everything from pouring rain to whiteout blizzard conditions. Initial reactions after about 600 miles: (vs. Michelin Cross Terrains) Overall handling: better cornering, tire feels stiffer Wet traction: better Light snow traction: equal Deep snow and slush: slightly worse Mileage: too early to be sure, but looks like I have dropped from about 18 to 17. Fantastic in the wet stuff, and very good in light snow and plowed or traffic packed snow. I was able to deal with Donner summit in a blizzard both ways with confidence, though Caltrans gets a lot of credit for doing a terrific job. I'm slightly disappointed about the deep snow traction, the smaller local roads had a lot of deep snow/slush and it was a bit slippery. I would like it to be better but it is adequate. I certainly had no problems, just had to be aware of the limitations. I will be keeping an eye on the mileage.”
