Argentina registered 865 electric vehicles in September 2026, up 29.7% from August and 434% from a year earlier. Hybrid registrations reached 8,322, increases of 18.1% month over month and 161% year over year.

For the first nine months of the year, electric registrations totaled 6,033, while hybrids reached 60,129. BYD led the electric-brand tally with 4,310 vehicles; its Dolphin Mini and Yuan Pro were the top two electric models. Toyota led the hybrid brand ranking, followed by Ford and BYD.

The report describes the electrified market as increasingly dominated by Chinese products, with newer arrivals gaining ground. It also notes that Argentina’s annual quota for 50,000 duty-free vehicle imports has helped create an opening for Asian electrified models.
