Avatr has presented the Concept T09 in Paris, previewing a near-production three-row SUV that will sit at the top of the Chinese brand’s range. The six-seat flagship was shown during an event tied to Avatr’s European launch, ahead of the Paris motor show. The company has yet to reveal full specifications or official interior photos, though its presentation depicted a spacious, lounge-style cabin.
Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology filings provide more detail on the domestic-market vehicle. The T09 is over 5.2 metres long and 2.0 metres wide, with a listed kerb weight of 2,880 to 3,035kg. Unlike other Avatr models, it is offered in China only as an extended-range electric vehicle. Buyers are listed as having a choice of a 105kW 1.5-litre petrol engine with 180kW front and 310kW rear motors, or a 150kW 2.0-litre engine with a 180kW front motor and two 225kW rear motors. Both versions use a 71.24kWh ternary-lithium battery supplied by CATL.
The filings also show potential equipment and appearance choices, including different grille finishes, wheel designs, two-tone paint, a panoramic roof and an available LiDAR sensor. Export-market production is not expected to be ready before 2028, and Avatr has indicated that Australia could be among the SUV’s early destinations.
The T09 would enter a field that includes the forthcoming Zeekr 9X and large luxury SUVs from established German brands. Avatr plans to begin its European rollout in Spain and Norway, while its Australian range is due to start with the smaller 07L SUV in early 2027, followed by the 06T electric wagon later that year.
