Avatr presented its new T09 large SUV at the Paris motor show, marking the model’s first public appearance in Europe. The display vehicle is a concept, but Avatr has already shown images of the China-bound production version, which appears to differ only modestly. China is scheduled to be the first market, with sales expected to begin by the end of 2026; a European launch is anticipated in late 2027.

The T09 introduces a fresh design direction for the brand and is described as the first model in its flagship series. It measures 5,285 mm long, 2,025 mm wide and 1,810 or 1,820 mm tall, depending on version, with a 3,150 mm wheelbase. The cabin has a three-screen dashboard, including a 10.25-inch instrument display and two 17.2-inch multimedia screens. The SUV is planned as a six-seater, and China-market versions are set to include lidar-based driver assistance.

In China, the T09 will be offered as an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid with a 71.24 kWh battery. One setup pairs a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with two electric motors, whose combined output is 666 hp. The other uses a 2.0-liter turbo engine and three electric motors, with the motors rated at 857 hp combined; total system output for this top version exceeds 1,000 hp. Avatr is a joint project involving Changan, Huawei and CATL. The brand’s first European offerings are expected to be the 06T wagon and 07L SUV, with sales planned to start early next year.
