Stelato has opened order-taking in China for the V8, its new minivan, and announced preliminary prices of 329,800–449,800 yuan. The production model was presented online after its pre-production debut at the Chengdu auto show in late August. Stelato is a joint brand of BAIC and Huawei, and the V8 is its third model, following the S9 sedan and wagon and the G9 SUV. Detailed equipment differences between trims have not yet been disclosed; retail sales are expected to begin later, and the final prices may be lower.
The V8 measures 5,335 mm long, 2,005 mm wide and 1,805 or 1,825 mm tall, depending on version, with a 3,250 mm wheelbase. Its seven-seat cabin has a three-screen dashboard, a ceiling-mounted rear passenger display and a removable control screen at the end of the center console. Second-row seats can turn toward the sliding doors for easier entry and can also face the third row. They offer heating, ventilation and massage, while an air suspension can lower the vehicle. Luggage capacity is listed at 674 liters, rising to 1,552 liters with the third-row seatbacks folded.
Both powertrain types use an 800-volt architecture and rear-wheel steering. The hybrid combines a 160-hp 1.5-liter turbo engine acting as a generator with a 309-hp rear motor; all-wheel-drive hybrids have a stated combined output of 526 hp. Most hybrids use a 56-kWh CATL battery, while the top AWD version gets 75.4 kWh and a claimed 430 km of electric-only CLTC range. The battery-electric V8 uses a 120-kWh CATL pack and is rated for 830 km in rear-drive form or 775 km with AWD, also under CLTC.
