BYD plans to introduce its God’s Eye City Navigation Driving Assistant on the Denza Z9 GT in Europe in 2027, making the wagon the first BYD vehicle in the region to offer the feature. Company officials disclosed the plan at the 2026 Paris Auto Show. The system is designed to navigate between addresses in urban settings, with the driver remaining responsible for monitoring the drive and taking control when needed.

Despite BYD’s description of the system’s urban-navigation capability, it is a Level 2 driver-assistance feature, not an autonomous-driving system that allows the driver to disengage. BYD executive vice president Stella Li said the assistance is intended to help with city driving situations such as congestion, intersections and roundabouts.

The planned European rollout will follow the expected arrival of Xpeng’s Navigation Guided Pilot in the region in the first quarter of 2027. In China, the Z9 GT uses God’s Eye 5.0, powered by BYD’s 4-nanometer Xuanji A3 chip, rated at around 700 TOPS of peak computing power. Its inputs include lidar, millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic sensors and cameras. The Z9 GT has also been the first BYD-made vehicle with flash charging to enter Europe.
