Jetta, FAW-Volkswagen’s entry-level brand in China, has added a fleet version of the M6 electric sedan for taxi operators and ride-hailing platforms. Priced at 85,800 yuan, it costs 6,000 yuan more than the 79,800-yuan retail base model, despite omitting several comfort features. Jetta restricts the configuration to fleet operators, though a WeChat post reportedly offers ex-DiDi cars to individual buyers. It is unclear whether those vehicles can be serviced at Jetta dealerships or retain the extended fleet warranty.

The fleet M6 uses the larger of the model’s two LFP battery packs: 51.9 kWh, paired with a front motor rated at 197 hp. Its claimed range is 555 km on China’s CLTC cycle, or about 450 km on WLTP. By comparison, the entry-level retail car has a 42.9-kWh battery, 154 hp and a 465-km CLTC range. Both versions are front-wheel drive, and CALB supplies the batteries. Fleet coverage can extend to 600,000 km over six or eight years, while regular retail versions are covered for three years or 100,000 km.

Cost cuts include manually adjusted seats without heating, ventilation or massage, plus steel wheels with plastic covers instead of alloys; the fleet car also appears to come only in white. The M6 launched on October 22, and Jetta recorded more than 10,000 orders in 19 hours. The range starts at 79,800 yuan and reaches 99,800 yuan. The sedan measures 4.81 metres long, with a 2.82-metre wheelbase.
