Leapmotor China has taken over direct management of its business in Thailand, describing the country as important for both brand-building and sales. The company says it is preparing to invest in after-sales support and is considering local vehicle assembly, but has not yet confirmed a plant. A decision is expected within two months, after greater clarity on Thai excise-tax rules and local-content requirements.
The first new model under the direct operation will be the all-electric B03X, a B-segment SUV scheduled for its Thai launch on October 31, 2026. Leapmotor says 2,000 imported vehicles are ready for delivery after launch. It is targeting 3,000–5,000 sales in Thailand this year and 10,000 in 2027, when it also plans to introduce two more models. The brand’s planned overall price positioning is 500,000–1.2 million baht.
Leapmotor Thailand says it will extend vehicle coverage to eight years or 160,000 km and provide lifetime warranties for batteries and powertrains across previously sold and upcoming models. It also plans a parts warehouse intended to supply dealers within 24–48 hours. Its dealer network targets are 30 outlets by the end of 2026, 65 in 2027 and 100 in 2028. Former distributor PNA has shifted to dealer status; Leapmotor says the transfer of its 15 existing dealers is complete. The four production routes being assessed include contract manufacturing, a joint venture, leasing a ready-built factory, or building a plant.
