Smart’s #2 city car has arrived at dealerships across China, following its debut at the Paris Auto Show. The regular model is now on display in two color combinations: red with a dark roof, and white with gold-colored pillars. Its exterior measures 2,746 mm long, 1,669 mm wide and 1,555 mm tall, with a 1,875 mm wheelbase. The Couture edition is slightly longer at 2,764 mm, and the car’s turning radius is 3.35 meters.
The cabin combines black and white trim with yellow seat piping. Equipment includes a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, an 8.8-inch instrument display, 256-color ambient lighting and seven Sennheiser speakers. The car also has circular air vents, a steering-column-mounted gear selector and a split tailgate.
A CATL-supplied 35.8 kWh battery powers a 60 kW (80 hp) rear motor, with a claimed CLTC range of 410 km. DC charging peaks at 65 kW, and Smart says charging from 10% to 80% takes 20 minutes. The Couture edition can be ordered in China for 112,999 yuan (about US$16,890), with production limited to 999 units; prices for other Chinese versions have not been announced. In Europe, the four listed trims range from €19,990 for the Pure to €25,690 for the Couture.
