XPeng has launched the Mona L03 SUV in Australia and New Zealand, expanding its lineup in both markets to three models alongside the G6 SUV and X9 MPV. The launch is the first under the company’s long-term Australian market plan, announced in July. XPeng says the L03 is its first overseas model with advanced driver assistance based on its second-generation Vision-Language-Action system.
The L03 starts at A$41,900 in Australia and NZ$49,900 in New Zealand. Buyers can choose a battery-electric version or an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). The EREV is the first XPeng model using its Kunpeng range-extender technology to reach the two markets.
XPeng’s specifications for the EREV list a 37.2-kWh battery, a 1.5-liter engine and a WLTP electric range of 215 kilometers. Its stated combined range is 1,017 kilometers. The 178-kW electric motor is rated for 0–100 km/h acceleration in 6.8 seconds. DC charging peaks at 123 kW, with a 10–80% charge time of 20 minutes, and the vehicle can supply up to 6 kW through vehicle-to-load functionality.
The SUV is 4,650 mm long, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase, and includes 18-inch wheels and Xpilot Assist features such as adaptive cruise control and lane centering. XPeng’s July plan called for five new models in Australia over six months, along with three flagship experience centers and as many as 50 sales outlets. The L03 debuted globally in Munich in July and is also sold in China and planned for 64 overseas markets.
