XPeng began taking reservations in China for the Mona L05 on October 15, with prices for five variants ranging from RMB 169,800 to RMB 191,800. The five-seat SUV is scheduled for its official launch on October 29. Buyers can choose a battery-electric version or an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). The L05 sits above the smaller Mona L03, which launched in July from RMB 123,800.

The L05 measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall, with a 2,940 mm wheelbase. Its BEV lineup includes a 535 Max with a 58.2 kWh LFP battery and a CLTC-rated range of 535 km, plus two 71.1 kWh versions rated for 635 km. All BEVs use a single rear motor producing 245 hp. The two EREV versions pair a 1.5-litre petrol engine, used as a generator, with a 37.2 kWh battery. They are rated for up to 310 km of electric-only driving and 1,310 km of combined range under CLTC. XPeng has not yet specified the generator’s output or fuel-tank capacity.

Cabin highlights include a 17.3-inch 3K central display, a 26.8-inch head-up display and, as an option, a tilting 17.3-inch rear passenger screen. Higher trims also differ in computing hardware: Max models have one XPeng Turing AI chip rated at 750 TOPS, while Ultra SE versions use two chips with a combined 1,500 TOPS. The L05 has 702 litres of rear cargo capacity, expanding to 1,913 litres with the rear seats folded.

XPeng says the Mona lineup has delivered more than 350,000 vehicles since entering the market two years ago. The company delivered 41,256 vehicles in September 2026, its highest monthly total so far that year, and 118,390 in the third quarter, a quarterly record. CEO He Xiaopeng has set a target of more than 60,000 monthly sales in the fourth quarter, with new models including the Mona L05 expected to support growth.
