Xpeng will unveil the Mona L05 in China and start taking pre-sales on October 15, with the event scheduled for 7 p.m. Beijing time. The company describes the mid-size SUV as a spacious five-seater aimed at younger buyers. Pricing and the formal launch date have not been announced; Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng previously said it was planned for the fourth quarter.
Regulatory filings indicate that the L05 will come in battery-electric and extended-range versions. The BEV uses a 71.1-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and is rated for 615 to 660 km of CLTC range, depending on configuration. The EREV pairs a 37.2-kWh battery with a 1.5-liter range extender. Both versions have a motor rated at up to 183 kW (245 hp).
The SUV measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall, with a 2,940-mm wheelbase. It is 220 mm longer than the compact Mona L03, and its wheelbase is 90 mm greater. The L03 starts at 123,800 yuan ($18,400) in China, but Xpeng has not confirmed a price for the L05.
The new model is part of Xpeng’s effort to lift sales with additional SUVs. The company delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, its highest monthly total of 2026 at the time, while third-quarter deliveries reached 118,390. He has said Xpeng aims to exceed 60,000 deliveries in a single month during the fourth quarter, with new models including the L05 expected to contribute.
