XPeng plans to unveil the Mona L05 and begin taking pre-orders in China at 7 p.m. local time on October 15, 2026. The company has not yet announced pricing or when deliveries will begin. The new model is a five-seat midsize SUV, positioned above the smaller Mona L03 in XPeng’s lineup and aimed at buyers seeking more cabin and cargo space.

The L05 measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,636 mm tall, with a 2,940 mm wheelbase. Compared with the L03, it adds 220 mm in overall length and 90 mm between the axles. Chinese regulatory filings show two powertrain choices: a battery-electric version and an extended-range electric version.

The BEV uses a 71.1-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and has a CLTC-rated range of 615–660 km, depending on configuration. The EREV pairs a 37.2-kWh battery with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that acts as a generator. Both versions are listed with an electric motor producing up to 245 hp. XPeng has yet to disclose the EREV’s range or further performance details.

The launch extends XPeng’s SUV range following the G9L’s China debut on September 17. The Mona L03, which went on sale in China on July 16 from CNY 123,800, is available as either a BEV or EREV and recorded more than 10,000 deliveries in September 2026.
