El Cero Km, an Argentine online service for comparing new-car offers, marked its second anniversary. Co-founder and CEO Anabella Guimarey said it was created to give buyers a clearer view of final prices by collecting dealer quotes and showing costs such as freight and preparation. Its free marketplace connects shoppers with dealerships, while a paid service provides personal assistance with choosing and negotiating a car.

Guimarey said the growing range of brands and models is making buyers take longer to decide, and that human advice remains important alongside tools such as AI. She also noted that Chinese brands tend to keep closer to their listed prices, which are usually set in dollars, while prices from mainstream brands can diverge more from list prices.

She described 2026 sales as having lost some momentum, while Chinese brands continued to gain ground. Their share reached 9% of Argentina’s market in August, with BYD leading the group and the BAIC BJ30 named as the best-selling Chinese model.
