BYD presented the Atto 8 at the Paris Motor Show, introducing a large, three-row electric SUV aimed at the European market. It is the brand’s first model there with three rows of seats, and is positioned to compete with the Skoda Peaq. BYD has not announced European pricing; sales are expected to begin in spring 2027.

The Atto 8 uses a 115-kWh second-generation Blade battery. BYD says compatible Flash Charging equipment can take the battery from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. At temperatures as low as -30°C, the claimed time to go from 20% to 97% is 12 minutes. The article gives no specific charging time for reaching 70%. These speeds rely on compatible chargers, and BYD is targeting 3,000 Flash Charging stations across Europe by the end of 2027. For comparison, the Skoda Peaq is reported to need about 28 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%, though the different charge ranges make the figures imperfectly comparable.

Both versions share the battery and charging capability. The rear-wheel-drive Design has 456 hp and a stated range of up to 652 km; its 0–100 km/h time is about eight seconds. The all-wheel-drive Excellence adds a second motor for 764 hp, reaches 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and has a stated range of about 602 km.

Equipment includes a panoramic roof, a 26-inch head-up display, massage, heating and ventilation for the front seats, and similar functions for the two outer second-row seats. Both trims have two 50W wireless phone chargers; the Excellence also gets a cabin refrigerator.
