BYD’s third-generation Tang EV AWD has appeared in a proposed vehicle regulatory listing in China, with a combined peak output of 515 kW (691 hp) and a listed top speed of 250 km/h. The filing describes a five-seat electric SUV measuring 5,045 mm long, 1,980 mm wide and 1,740 mm tall, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase and a curb weight of 2,520 kg. A China launch is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, but the listing is not final production approval.

The front motor is an AC asynchronous unit with 215 kW peak output; the rear is a permanent-magnet synchronous motor producing up to 300 kW. The filing identifies an LFP battery, but gives no capacity, range or charging figures for this AWD configuration. The wider Tang EV lineup lists 88.682 kWh and 105.792 kWh battery options and CLTC ranges of 730 km, 830 km and 850 km, though the source says these figures cannot be reliably assigned to the AWD model.

Compared with the second-generation Tang EV, the new version is 145 mm longer, has a wheelbase extended by 130 mm, and is listed with a top speed 70 km/h higher. The filing specifies five seats, unlike the previous model’s six- and seven-seat layouts. BYD’s larger Da Tang EV, launched in China on June 17, 2026, is 5,263 mm long, has a 3,130 mm wheelbase and seats seven; its starting price was 239,900 yuan.

The filing also lists 21-inch wheel and tyre fitments and several exterior options. Reports have linked the Tang EV to air suspension, driver-assistance hardware and specific cabin screens, but the listing does not confirm those features or whether they will be standard on this AWD version.
