BYD’s 2027 Song Plus plug-in hybrid is being offered by Brazilian dealers for R$217,890, R$32,100 below its official price of R$249,990. The latest model line, introduced in March, adds a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine, a larger battery and DC fast-charging capability. The DM-i system produces a combined 240 hp and 30.6 kgfm of torque; BYD quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 8.1 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
The Blade battery’s capacity has increased from 18.3 kWh to 26.6 kWh. In Brazil’s Inmetro testing, the SUV’s all-electric range is rated at 99 km, up from 63 km. BYD cites a combined range of up to 1,150 km under the NEDC cycle, while DC charging from 30% to 80% takes about 55 minutes. The vehicle warranty is six years; battery coverage runs for eight years or 200,000 km.
The single Brazilian trim includes a 15.6-inch multimedia display, 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, head-up display, 360-degree camera and 10-speaker Infinity audio. Driver aids include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance. The 4.78-meter-long SUV seats five and offers up to 552 liters of luggage space. Partial October figures cited by WM1 and JATO Dynamics put it fifth among Brazil’s best-selling hybrids, with 2,156 registrations. At the promotional price, it is close to combustion-powered alternatives such as the Honda HR-V Touring and Volkswagen Taos Highline.
