BYD shows five-seat Sealion 08 cabin days before September 2 debut

With the Sealion 08 due to go on sale on September 2, Zhang Zhuo, who runs sales for BYD's Ocean Series, has published images of the five-seat version's interior. The six-seat layout's cabin was shown at an earlier date. Reservations opened on August 13, with the PHEV listed at 230,000 yuan (34,105 USD) and the battery-electric variant from 250,000 yuan (37,070 USD).Measuring 5,115 mm long with a 3,030 mm wheelbase, the SUV takes its styling from the Ocean S concept, including split headlights and air ducts in the front bumper. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit points to the "God's Eye 5.0" driver-assistance system. Inside, a light beige palette with soft leather, adjustable ambient lighting strips, oval chrome vents, a floating touchscreen and a full digital cluster define the cabin, with only a few physical buttons retained for frequently used functions. Five-seat models add leg rests on the outer rear seats and a storage cabinet beneath the center perch, while the 2+2+2 layout gets a pair of electrically adjustable captain's chairs with leg rests.The plug-in hybrid pairs a 115 kW (154 hp) 1.5T engine with fifth-generation DM technology, offered with one 200 kW (268 hp) motor or two, and tops out at 400 km of CLTC electric range. The BEV comes with a 320 kW (429 hp) or 370 kW (496 hp) single motor, or a dual-motor combination of 215 kW (288 hp) front and 370 kW rear, and filings indicate 92.093 kWh and 115.072 kWh packs good for 710, 800 or 900 km of CLTC range. Second-generation Blade Battery hardware, flash charging, the DiSus-A system, dual-chamber air suspension with road preview and rear-wheel steering complete the spec sheet.
