Chery has begun pre-sales of the Luxeed RX, a premium electric SUV developed with Huawei. Its proportions and sloping roofline resemble those of the Ferrari Purosangue, though the two vehicles differ in details such as their lighting design. The RX is 5.02 metres long, while both models have a three-metre wheelbase and are about two metres wide.
The RX comes with either a single rear motor producing 371 hp or an all-wheel-drive, dual-motor setup rated at 586 hp. Three battery options are listed, with claimed CLTC driving ranges of 700 to 852 km. The cabin features three displays, ambient lighting and camera-based systems that perform the same function as conventional mirrors; a roof-mounted lidar points to driver-assistance equipment.
Prices start at 259,800 yuan for the RX Max and reach 389,800 yuan for the top configuration. The article compares those figures with the Purosangue’s 4,988,000-yuan price in China.
