LEPAS, a multi-energy brand under China’s Chery Group, is preparing to enter Chile with a strategy built around technology, different powertrain options and local customer support. The company plans to use the market infrastructure of the Chery subsidiary that already represents OMODA | JAECOO in Chile.
Its planned Chilean network would extend from Antofagasta to Puerto Montt, with close to 20 showrooms and service coverage across the country. The warranty package is set to include lifetime engine coverage, a general warranty of seven years or 200,000 km, and battery coverage of eight years or 160,000 km.
LEPAS says its LEX intelligent platform will coordinate vehicle energy management, the digital cabin and driver-assistance systems. Depending on model and market, planned features include 540-degree vision, voice assistance, over-the-air updates and vehicle-to-load (V2L) power supply. The brand says it intends to offer several propulsion types, while focusing on technology with practical everyday benefits; it has not specified the Chilean model range in the article.
The move comes as Chinese authorities promote stronger overseas compliance and market adaptation. Guidance published on September 1 by three government bodies highlighted product suitability, quality, safety, after-sales service, data management and local regulations. LEPAS has also opened its first UK dealership and aims to exceed 60 locations there in 2026 and 90 by the end of 2027.
