Chery Thailand has provided a Chery V23 electric vehicle to K9 USAR Thailand, the National K9 Search and Rescue Organization, to assist with the team’s travel, training, equipment transport and readiness for emergency deployments. The announcement was published on October 5, 2026.
Chery says the V23’s automatic ventilation function, designed to help care for pets inside the vehicle, can provide a cooler environment for rescue dogs while they are being transported or working on missions. The company cited Thailand’s high temperatures as a challenge that can affect the dogs’ health and operational effectiveness, and said the vehicle is intended to support both the animals and their handlers.
K9 USAR Thailand is part of Thailand’s THA-01 urban search-and-rescue team, which has been certified to United Nations INSARAG standards. The organization has taken part in responses to building collapses and landslides, among other situations, including operations in locations with difficult access or safety constraints. It said the V23 would be used in field operations for the first time as it prepares to support work in areas affected by flooding.
The donated vehicle has also received a roof rack and suspension upgrades supplied by IRONMAN 4×4. The additions are intended to help the team carry essential equipment and travel for exercises and rescue work.
