In the Philippines the Chinese-brand story this week is a small market growing from a low base: GWM posted a record month on 262 sales and cannot supply every order, while Omoda & Jaecoo, Jetour and Denza each added network or took reservations.
GWM: a record month, constrained by supply
GWM Philippines sold 262 vehicles in September, its highest monthly total since entering the market, up from the previous record of 232 in August and bringing the first nine months to 836. The company credits the Haval H7 plug-in hybrid, saying orders currently exceed the vehicles available. Some customers are still waiting, and GWM says it aims to serve them within the year. It gave no separate H7 sales figure.
Network and aftersales
- Omoda and Jaecoo owners can now use five more Bosch Car Service branches in Bacoor, Banawe, Sta. Rosa, Marikina and Pasay. The arrangement runs to the end of 2026 and requires advance booking.
- Royce Motor Group signed a dealership agreement for a new Jetour outlet in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, to serve Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya and northern Bulacan. No opening date was given.
Denza opens Z9 GT reservations
Denza Philippines began taking Z9 GT reservations at an event running October 8 to 11 at Bonifacio Global City, Manila. Market introduction is targeted for the first quarter of 2027, and powertrain specifications have not been announced.
What it means
- GWM's constraint is stock, not demand, which is a different problem from the discounting seen in Thailand and Vietnam this week.
- The figures are small: 836 vehicles in nine months. One model can move the monthly total.
- Network additions, both aftersales and dealers, are happening ahead of the volume they would need to serve.
