Denza’s B5 remained Brazil’s best-selling premium-market model for a fifth consecutive month in October 2026, with 577 registrations, according to Quatro Rodas. The BMW X1 recorded 405. The gap is narrower in the year-to-date tally: the B5 had 3,777 sales through October, against 3,949 for its German rival.
The B5 is the first Denza model offered in Brazil. The BYD luxury brand sells it as a plug-in hybrid in two versions: GL, priced at R$405,000, and GS, at R$449,000. Its three-motor setup combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with electric motors on both axles, producing a combined 687 hp and 77.5 kgfm of torque. In the publication’s testing, the 3,055-kg SUV reached 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.4 seconds.
A 31.8-kWh battery gives the B5 an official electric range of 74 km under the brand’s Inmetro figures; the report says real-world driving can exceed 100 km on short trips. Charging supports up to 11 kW AC and 100 kW DC. The electrically driven four-wheel-drive system includes low-range gearing and front and rear differential locks. Adjustable air suspension can raise ground clearance to 31 cm, while the SUV’s listed wading depth is 75 cm.
