GAC introduced the Aion UT Cross at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, 2026, adding a crossover-style version to its compact electric hatchback range. The model keeps the UT’s basic proportions while gaining 2 cm more ground clearance than the standard hatchback, matte-black lower-body and wheel-arch cladding, roof rails and wider, model-specific wheels. GAC says the project was developed for European customers by its Milan design centre.
The Cross measures 4.27 metres long, with a 2.75-metre wheelbase and a 440-litre boot. Folding the rear seats creates a flat load area, while the cabin has 24 storage compartments, a 14.6-inch central touchscreen and an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Power comes from an approximately 201-hp electric motor and a 60-kWh battery. GAC quotes up to 400 km of range on the WLTP cycle and a 30-to-80% fast charge in 24 minutes. Loaded ground clearance is 14.7 cm; the car also has seven airbags and a body structure made with 71% high-strength steel.
Sales are expected to begin in the UK in early 2027, with Austria also named among the intended European markets. Some European versions are due to include a heat pump and heated steering wheel as standard. In Colombia, the regular Aion UT is already sold in Light, Elite and Premium trims, but GAC has not confirmed whether the Cross will join it. The local UT range offers batteries from 32.24 to 60 kWh and NEDC-rated range claims of 300 to 500 km; those figures use a different test cycle from the Cross’s WLTP estimate.
