Geely is expanding the Monjaro’s overseas offering with the Monjaro EM-i, a plug-in hybrid SUV aimed at European markets. The model retains the proportions of a midsize SUV, while its cabin has been adapted for export customers. The article describes the Monjaro and Renault Koleos as sharing technical and platform links.

Inside, the revised layout uses a central tablet-style display alongside physical controls. The center console includes buttons, a crystal-finish rotary control and covered storage, while the gear selector is mounted on the steering column rather than arranged as a conventional lever.

The EM-i uses Geely’s GEA EVo platform and a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine rated at about 145 hp. In front-wheel-drive form, it works with a 163 hp electric motor and an 18.4 kWh battery for a combined 279 hp. The all-wheel-drive version adds a second electric motor, raises combined output to 340 hp and uses a 29.8 kWh battery. Geely has not provided final, Europe-certified electric-range figures.

The article presents the plug-in hybrid as part of Geely’s effort to grow beyond China with vehicles combining combustion and electric power. It also notes that Renault sells the latest Koleos as a self-charging hybrid in Colombia, and suggests a plug-in version could be a future possibility for that model in the region; it does not report a Renault confirmation.
