Geely has unveiled a substantial update to the Galaxy E5 in China, known as the EX5 in international markets. The compact five-seat electric SUV keeps much of its established styling, but the main revisions are beneath the body: key versions switch to rear-wheel drive, and the lineup gains an 800-volt electrical system, faster charging and a new LFP battery. Geely’s updated model is based on the GEA platform. The EX5 has also been sold in Chile since April 2025 in electric and plug-in hybrid forms.

The rear-drive versions use an electric motor producing up to 245 kW, or about 329 hp—roughly 114 hp more than the previous model. Their top speed rises from 175 to 201 km/h. The entry version retains front-wheel drive. Rear-drive models measure about 4,630 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall, with a 2,745 mm wheelbase; the revised layout also makes room for a 160-litre front trunk.

China-market battery choices are 60.22, 61.52 and 70.01 kWh. Geely quotes CLTC ranges of up to 530, 550 and 635 km, respectively; the article gives estimated WLTP equivalents of 429, 446 and 514 km. The battery is the new Aegis Golden Brick LFP unit, and the 6C charging system is paired with a claim of reaching about 80% charge from a low level in roughly nine minutes, subject to version and charging conditions.

Cabin equipment includes a 15.4-inch, 2.5K central display, a 10.2-inch instrument screen and Flyme Auto 2. Higher trims can add roof-mounted LiDAR and G-Pilot H5 assistance, including guided driving on highways and urban roads, memory parking and automated manoeuvre support. Other additions include a 50W wireless charger, head-up display and a 540-degree camera.
