Jaecoo is reportedly preparing an instrument-panel upgrade for the Jaecoo 5 in Brazil. A second imported batch of the compact SUV is expected to arrive during 2026 with a more modern display, according to journalist Renato Maia of the Falando de Carro channel. The change follows criticism of the vehicle’s basic seven-segment LED readout, which uses illuminated segments to form numbers and other information rather than a conventional screen. The model went on sale in Brazil in late September.
The replacement display is expected to match the screen used in the electric Jaecoo 5 and other vehicles from the group, including the Omoda 7, Jaecoo 7 and recently presented Omoda 4. The report does not specify an exact arrival date for the updated batch. Current promotional prices in Brazil range from R$154,990 to R$179,990; after the launch offer ends, the listed prices are set to rise to R$159,990 and R$184,990.
The Jaecoo 5 is offered as a hybrid, combining a 1.5-liter turbo engine with an electric motor for a stated total output of 224 hp and 30.1 kgfm of torque. Jaecoo quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 7.9 seconds and a DHT automatic transmission. The Comfort trim includes six airbags and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Prestige adds equipment such as a 360-degree camera, a 13.2-inch infotainment screen, a panoramic roof and driver-assistance systems.
