Leapmotor presented the B03 at the Paris Motor Show as a compact electric hatchback aimed at buyers considering models such as the Volkswagen ID. Polo and Renault 5. The Chinese brand expects the car to cost around €25,000 in Europe. It is positioned between the smaller T03 and the B03X crossover, and does without costlier equipment such as LiDAR to help keep its price competitive. In China, the related model is sold as the A05S for under €7,500, with a more extensive driver-assistance package.
The B03 measures 4.17 metres long and has a 2.60-metre wheelbase. Its 405-litre luggage area is supplemented by a 90-litre waterproof storage compartment beneath the boot floor. Inside, the front passenger seat folds flat, while a lift-up rear-seat base creates extra space for taller items. The dashboard combines a 14.6-inch multimedia display with an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel. Its software includes Camping and Guard modes for specific parked-car functions.
A front-mounted electric motor produces 194 hp and 20.4 kgfm, paired with a 53-kWh LFP battery. Leapmotor quotes up to 389 km of WLTP range; DC charging at up to 133 kW takes the battery from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes. The hatch reaches 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and has a top speed of 162 km/h. The article also reports that production of the B10 SUV has begun at Leapmotor’s Zaragoza plant in Spain, part of its wider push for local manufacturing in Europe.
