Leapmotor has officially introduced its C10 and C16 SUVs in Mexico, expanding the Chinese brand’s local lineup with two models described as ultra-hybrids. The move is part of a strategy backed by Stellantis to build Leapmotor’s presence in the country. Both vehicles are based on the LEAP3.5 platform, which brings together electrified propulsion, electronic controls and intelligent systems, and includes driver-assistance features and over-the-air updates.

The C10 is a five-seat SUV measuring 4.7 meters long. Its equipment includes a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument display and 21 driver-assistance systems. Leapmotor gives its combined range as up to 1,008 kilometers under the NEDC test cycle. The larger C16 measures 4.9 meters and seats six in a 2+2+2 layout with captain’s chairs. It has 20 advanced assistance systems and a claimed NEDC combined range of up to 953 kilometers.

Both SUVs share a powertrain rated at 217 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. Vehicles for Mexico underwent validation at Stellantis Mexico’s automotive engineering research, development and testing center, with testing intended to account for the country’s geography, climate and altitude. Mopar will support maintenance and parts supply through authorized dealers; estimated delivery times for spare parts, accessories and collision components are 24 to 48 hours.
