BYD’s second-generation Seagull has arrived at dealerships in China ahead of its domestic launch. The electric hatchback is marketed as the Atto 1 in Indonesia, and the new version brings changes to its dimensions, drivetrain and driver-assistance technology. BYD has not yet announced a price; the report says it is expected to cost less than 100,000 yuan.

The car is powered by a 95 kW (127 hp) electric motor driving the rear wheels. Buyers will reportedly have a choice of 30 kWh and 39.2 kWh batteries, with CLTC-rated ranges of 320 km and 420 km. The model is also said to support fast charging that can take the battery from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. A LiDAR-equipped version is expected to use BYD’s DiPilot 300 assistance system, including Navigate on Autopilot functionality.

At 4,205 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm high, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase, the new Seagull is 425 mm longer than the first generation. Dealer images show a six-colour range, 16-inch black wheels, semi-concealed door handles and a floating-roof design. Inside, it has a white-dominant cabin, a two-spoke steering wheel and a central display that also serves as the instrument panel. Other listed features include wireless phone charging, physical buttons, two cupholders and an electrically operated front trunk.
