Omoda and Jaecoo plan seven model or version launches in Brazil during 2027, as the Chery-owned brands seek to sell 150,000 vehicles and rank among the country’s five biggest retail sellers. The lineup is expected to span small cars through large SUVs. The full list is not confirmed, but the Omoda QQ, Omoda 4 and Jaecoo 8 are among the clearest candidates.
The Omoda QQ is expected to arrive in January at around R$125,000. Reported specifications include a 43 kWh battery, a rear-mounted 123 hp motor and rear-wheel drive. Its range is quoted at about 430 km under China’s test cycle; the Brazilian figure is expected to be closer to 325 km. The roughly 4.19-meter-long model would be part of a planned trio of Omoda vehicles priced below R$150,000.
The approximately 4.40-meter Omoda 4 would sit below the Omoda 5 and take on compact SUVs including the Volkswagen Tera and Fiat Pulse. A full-hybrid 1.5-liter turbo setup producing around 224 hp and 30.1 kgm has been considered, though its Brazilian specification is not settled. The larger Jaecoo 8 is due in the first quarter of 2027, with six- or seven-seat layouts and a plug-in hybrid system; its 30 kWh LFP battery is confirmed, but Brazil-specific power figures are not.
Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 7 may also gain versions, potentially using Chery’s planned flex-fuel hybrid technology. Local production is targeted for early 2027, with Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro state, discussed as a possible site but not officially confirmed. Its reported initial capacity of about 24,000 vehicles a year is well below the sales ambition. Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 5 are among the potential first locally built models, and production could eventually support exports elsewhere in South America.
