Chinese automaker ROX has delivered its first 100 vehicles built in the United Arab Emirates, moving its Abu Dhabi presence beyond sales and into production. The luxury SUVs were made at the company’s AI-focused manufacturing center in Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). ROX said it developed the facility in six months, and each vehicle carries a “Made in the UAE” mark.
The site brings together manufacturing operations, an artificial-intelligence laboratory and a design studio. ROX describes the UAE Edition as tailored to regional-market needs and says its production follows detailed, numbered procedures. The deliveries represent vehicles reaching customers, rather than a plan for a future factory; the company intends to continue production in KEZAD to support its regional expansion.
The initial batch resulted from cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office. The project is backed by the ministry’s Make it in the Emirates initiative and is aligned with the country’s National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, known as Operation 300bn, as well as Abu Dhabi’s industrial strategy. The partners highlighted local expertise, supplier development and stronger supply chains as part of the wider effort to build automotive manufacturing, design and advanced-technology capabilities in the emirate.
