A new flagship crossover for the Shangjie brand, developed by SAIC and Huawei, has appeared in China’s latest Ministry of Industry and Information Technology catalogue. The Z9 is currently certified as an electric vehicle, and Chinese media reports suggest it could reach the market next year; an official unveiling may come sooner, potentially in 2026. Neither timing has been confirmed by the companies in the source report.
The Z9 has a smooth front end, active air flaps in the lower bumper, partly concealed door handles and powered side steps. Its exterior is described as resembling Porsche models with combustion engines. The certification listing also specifies a lidar-equipped driver-assistance system. The cabin has not been shown, but the crossover is slated for five- and six-seat configurations.
The Z9 measures 5,139 mm long, 2,005 mm wide and 1,776 mm tall, with a 3,086 mm wheelbase. Buyers are expected to have a choice of 20- or 21-inch wheels. A single-motor version produces 381 hp, while the all-wheel-drive model uses two motors with a combined output of 619 hp. Battery details have not been disclosed. Shangjie launched in 2025 and has so far added the H5 crossover and the Z7 sedan and Z7T wagon to its range; the Z7 pair has also been noted for Porsche-inspired styling.
