The Aiva ME7, the first model from the Seres-CATL partnership, has appeared in a new product catalogue from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The all-electric passenger vehicle is marketed under the Aiva brand, also known by its Chinese name, Saidou.

MIIT information lists single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions. Both use a CATL-made ternary lithium-ion battery and seat five. The rear motor produces up to 270 kW. In the AWD version, a 150 kW front motor joins the same rear unit for a combined peak output of 420 kW. The listed top speed is 255 km/h, and towing capacity is 700 kg.

The ME7 measures 4,999 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and either 1,616 or 1,626 mm high, with a 3,050 mm wheelbase. Listed equipment options include red brake calipers, a black roof, different wheel designs, a tow hitch and an onboard ETC unit; all versions also have an event data recorder.

The filing follows battery-production cooperation at Seres’ factory. CATL’s two CTP 2.0 production lines there began operating in June 2025. Seres and CATL have also agreed to advance a second phase of their factory-within-a-factory project, planned for 10–12 GWh of annual capacity. The two phases together are expected to exceed 20 GWh per year once the expansion is complete.
