Xpeng has launched the Mona L05 in China, positioning the new SUV above the L03 and targeting the Tesla Model Y. It was first presented in Guangzhou on October 15, with its commercial launch taking place on October 29. The Chinese lineup comprises six versions: four battery-electric and two range-extended variants. The model is also part of a broader Mona family that includes the M03 sedan.

The L05 measures 4.87 metres long, 1.93 metres wide and 1.64 metres tall, with a 2.94-metre wheelbase. All versions use a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 245 hp and 280 Nm. Battery-electric versions have 58.2-kWh or 71.1-kWh LFP packs and CLTC ranges of 535, 560 or 635 km, depending on configuration. Xpeng says rapid charging from 30% to 80% takes 15.8 minutes.

The range-extended models add a 1.5-litre petrol generator and a 42-litre fuel tank. Their 37.2-kWh LFP battery supports up to 310 km of electric-only CLTC range, while total combined range reaches 1,310 km. These versions also support 6-kW vehicle-to-load power. The cabin can include a 17.3-inch central display, a head-up display, a rear-seat screen and a 20-speaker audio system; cargo capacity is 702 litres, or 1,913 litres with the rear seats folded.

The article notes that Xpeng’s smaller L03 has recently arrived in Colombia, but says the L05’s addition to that market remains only a possibility for importer Inchcape to consider. No Colombian launch or pricing has been confirmed.
