BYD has rolled out the 2027 update of its Yuan UP Feichi Edition in China — the small electric crossover marketed abroad as the Atto 2 — and the headline change is a new top-range version rated at 501 km on the CLTC cycle, a 100 km jump over the previous ceiling. Pricing starts at RMB 74,800 (roughly $11,150) and tops out at RMB 104,800, while eligible trade-in customers can bring the entry point down to RMB 69,800.
The lineup now counts five trims: one with 301 km of range, two with 401 km and two with 501 km. Those three steps correspond to 32 kWh, 45.12 kWh and 51.13 kWh LFP Blade batteries, with the largest pack supplied by FinDreams Battery. DC fast charging restores the battery from 30 to 80 percent in about half an hour.
Under the skin, BYD has simplified rather than expanded the offering: every version now uses the same front-mounted 70 kW (94 hp) permanent-magnet motor with 180 Nm, and the former 130 kW option is gone. The car remains on the e-Platform 3.0 with cell-to-body construction and virtually unchanged dimensions, while the cabin gets a reworked layout — the shifter moves behind the steering wheel, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen runs the DiLink 100 system, and upper trims add DiPilot C assistance covering highway navigation and automated parking.
Demand at home stays solid: 22,958 units were delivered in August 2026, up 13.2% from July and 16.9% year on year. On that basis, the Vietnamese outlet behind the report expects the refreshed Atto 2 to reach that market before long, with the 501 km version theoretically covering a Hanoi-to-Quang Binh run on a single charge.
