Two BAIC BJ60e SUVs have arrived in Brazil and begun the local homologation process, ahead of a planned retail launch in 2027 or 2028. The large off-road model is an extended-range electric vehicle: its wheels are driven only by electric motors, while a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine generates electricity. The report says the two vehicles cleared customs and were driven from the port.

The BJ60e has a 40.3-kWh battery, with a stated electric-only range of up to 152 km. A 188-hp gasoline engine works with a 123-hp generator, while the front and rear electric motors produce 208 hp and 340 hp respectively. Its 82-liter fuel tank contributes to a claimed total range of 1,200 km under China’s CLTC test cycle. Off-road features include 11 drive settings, 21.5 cm of ground clearance, approach and departure angles of 30 and 24 degrees, and a stated wading depth of 80 cm.

The body-on-frame SUV measures 5.04 meters long and has a 2.82-meter wheelbase. Cabin equipment described in the report includes dual 12.8-inch central displays, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, and a 12-speaker Infinity audio system. BAIC plans ten launches in Brazil by 2028 alongside its Arcfox brand, which will focus on battery-electric cars. The companies plan 50 shared dealerships by December 2026 and 150 by the end of 2027.
