A BYD Atto 1 electric car suffered a broken axle on Ring Road Raya, near the Kapuk toll exit in Kamal, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, on Nov. 2, 2026. Local transport officials said the driver had struck a road barrier before the axle failed. The incident was reported at about 4 a.m. on the route from Cengkareng toward Tegal Alur.
The damaged area was at the right rear wheel. According to the driver’s account, the car continued for roughly one or two kilometres after the collision before a loud noise and the wheel-area failure. The account does not establish whether the barrier impact was the sole cause of the axle damage.
West Jakarta transport personnel moved the car out of the traffic lane and called a tow truck to take it to a nearby workshop. Other staff controlled traffic and secured the area to limit congestion. The agency also reminded motorists that Jakarta’s transport department offers free towing assistance through its call centre at 1500-813.
