BYD unveiled the all-electric Atto 8, a large seven-seat SUV, at the Paris Auto Show on Oct. 12, 2026. Sales through European dealers are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. The model measures 5,040 mm long, 1,996 mm wide and 1,760 mm tall, and offers luggage capacity of 270 litres with all three seating rows in use, or up to 1,960 litres with the second and third rows folded. A 136-litre front storage compartment is also provided.

Two versions will be offered, both with a 115 kWh battery. The rear-wheel-drive Design RWD produces 462 PS and 365 Nm, reaches 100 km/h from rest in 8.0 seconds and has a WLTP combined range of up to 652 km. The all-wheel-drive Excellence AWD makes 775 PS and 775 Nm, cuts the same acceleration time to 4.6 seconds and is rated for up to 602 km.

BYD says the Atto 8 is its first model in Europe to use second-generation Blade Battery technology with Flash Charging. The company quotes charging from 10% to 70% in five minutes and to 97% in nine minutes. At temperatures as low as -30°C, it says a 20–97% charge takes 12 minutes. BYD plans to build its European Flash Charging network to 3,000 stations by the end of 2027.

The cabin includes a 10.25-inch instrument display, a 26-inch head-up display and a 15.6-inch infotainment screen with Google built-in. Other listed features include a panoramic glass roof, three-zone climate control and heated, ventilated and massage functions for the front seats and the outer seats in the second row. Audio equipment differs by trim: the RWD has 10 speakers, while the AWD gets a 21-speaker DiSound system.
