BYD introduced the second-generation Seal 07 in China on Nov. 5, updating both the battery-electric and plug-in hybrid versions. The five-trim range is priced from 139,900 yuan to 172,900 yuan: two DM-i plug-in hybrids cost 139,900 yuan and 149,900 yuan, while three EV trims are priced at 149,900 yuan, 159,900 yuan and 172,900 yuan. Eligible trade-in buyers can receive a 4,000-yuan reduction from each trim’s guide price.
Both powertrains share a body measuring 5,080 mm long, 1,960 mm wide and 1,495 mm tall, with a 2,960-mm wheelbase. That is 85 mm more length and 60 mm more wheelbase than the respective previous versions. The DM-i models use a 38-kWh battery for a claimed CLTC electric range of 330 km. The EVs pair a 76.744-kWh second-generation Blade Battery with a rear motor rated at 245 kW, and are rated for 775 km of CLTC range. BYD says the EV range is 70 km greater than before; the plug-in hybrid’s electric range gains 100 km.
The EV starts 20,000 yuan below the version launched in March, while the DM-i entry price is 9,900 yuan lower than that of the 2026 model introduced in September 2025. Driver-assistance equipment varies by trim: three higher-priced versions include God's Eye C, while LiDAR-based God's Eye B is optional on those models. Entry trims do not offer either system.
The update arrives as sales of the broader Seal series—not the Seal 07 alone—fell 19.32% year on year to 46,834 vehicles in October. The series recorded 351,557 sales in the first 10 months of 2026, down 14.85% from a year earlier.
