Updated 2027 BYD Dolphin Mini hatchbacks are arriving at Brazilian dealerships with several changes to the GS, the range-topping trim. The exterior revisions include black-finished alloy wheels, a reshaped rear spoiler and a new Time Grey paint choice. The car also switches to Pirelli Cinturato P6 tires sized 185/55 R16, replacing 175/55 R16 Hankook tires while retaining its 16-inch wheels. The redesigned spoiler has an opening around the third brake light. The changes echo details used on the Dolphin Surf, the model’s name in Europe; BYD has not confirmed whether the entry-level GL will receive them too.
The Mini’s front-mounted electric motor continues to produce 75 hp and 13.8 kgfm of torque, with a claimed 0–100 km/h time of 14.9 seconds. The 3.78-meter-long hatch has a 2.50-meter wheelbase and 230 liters of luggage capacity. In Brazil, the GL is priced at R$118,990 and uses a 30.08-kWh Blade battery for an Inmetro-rated range of 224 km. The GS costs R$119,990 and has a 38-kWh battery rated for 280 km. The GS also adds six airbags, electrically adjustable driver’s seat and wireless phone charging. Maximum fast-charging power is listed at 40 kW for the GL and 30 kW for the GS; the published prices have not changed.
The update comes after a record September for the model in Brazil: 9,385 registrations made it the country’s third-best-selling vehicle overall, behind the Fiat Strada and Volkswagen Polo. From January through September, sales exceeded 60,000 units. The Mini also led Brazil’s retail market in September, with 5,886 sales to individual customers.
